SPEAK UP WOMAN!

WOMEN OF ALL AGES FROM ALL WALKS OF LIFE STEPPING FORWARD TO SPEAK UP

SPEAKER EVENT
SATURDAY 11TH MAY 2024
Time: 11-4pm

KING ALFRED BALLROOM

KINGS ROAD

BRIGHTON AND HOVE BN3 2WW

Speak Up Woman is a speaker course for women, with a live stage finale, allowing the participants to get practice in front of a real audience and get a video recording of their talk to share on social media so that they can spread their messages around the world.

We have some amazing and powerful talks coming up – you’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll feel inspired, empowered and ready to support women all along the way!

Speak Up Woman supports women entrepreneurs who want to raise their profile as experts and reach a larger national and international audience, and also reach out to women who need support to raise their confidence, empowering them with new prospects for better living and work conditions.

This is not TEDx and it’s not a competition. This is – perhaps – the step before that.

BE BOLD WORKSHOP:

LOU FEATHERSTONE OF LU IN LULAND

Lou is a 52 year old accidental middle aged influencer, dedicated to empowering women to find their confidence in mid-life, step out of their comfort zone and see what the heck happens.

For years I was told to simmer down, lower my voice, be seen and not heard, to be a good wife, a good vicars daughter and a good mum. I’ve been told to act my age, talk with an inside voice and for years I tried desperately to shrink myself down and into everyone else’s expectations of me. Well that was a waste of time.

So here I am on this wild ride, determined not to let you make the same mistakes as me.

“The six-week training course for the speakers before the event is amazing - it made me feel more confident and motivated already after the first video! Mi was right next to me, supporting me to get my talk ready, adding a stronger storyline and flow, which made me feel more comfortable and confident with it. I suddenly felt I really want to do this - and I really should do this. For all women.”

“The preparation for stage is fun and really straight forward but had a massive impact on my confidence - it's powerful and I wish for all women to have the opportunity to do this training and speaker practise! I had a talk in mind when I started and it quickly developed and took shape thanks to the step-by-step modules and worksheets, and I now feel ready to deliver it from the stage.”

“I've really enjoyed the training and now can't wait to get on stage. Instead of feeling fearful, I'm looking forward to it. Mi's training is exemplary and she's been super supportive all the way. I love that this opens up the stage for both first-time speakers and women in business to support each other.”
