Hi everyone,
I’m Alice Clover aka The Farting Feminist. I write children’s books about girls, that are all about normalising our natural bodily functions.
My best selling book Girls Love to Fart has sold around 15,000 copies and is why I am now known as The Farting Feminist.

I have always felt that by writing books for children that are fun and make them laugh will encourage them to talk about subjects that are not always so easy to discuss, and for many parents and other grown ups too.

I am a huge advocate for women’s and girls rights and believe that when we can take back ownership and autonomy of our bodies and bodily functions we can then feel more in control in all other aspects of our lives too.

Farts are funny, children love to talk about them but the majority of these types of books are aimed at boys and about boys, so I wanted to shake this up a bit and use the hashtag #rebelliousliterature to promote my work.

I’ve also worked with children for twenty-five years and have two daughters of my own, so have plenty of experience and knowledge when it comes to children’s sense of humour and what brings them joy. I also volunteer at my daughters local Brownies group, which is brilliant fun.

I look forward to working alongside all of the other incredible women who run Eyestorm. I will be in charge of uploading the posts onto the Eyestorm Instagram page and also writing a monthly blog.

New Year, New Aspirations

Welcome to 2025. I don’t know about you, but I have been taking the opportunity to replenish my energy and refocus my imagination. 2024 was not the easiest year for myself or my family because our flat had a leak and we needed to clear out a lot of our belongings and have found ourselves in temporary accommodation. Through this uncertainty we have all found strength in the love we have for each other and also learnt that we are far more adaptable than we thought possible. So, this year, I have decided to see January as a time to look at my aspirations and put my focus into them, especially when a lot of other areas of my life seem so uncertain. I was told by a friend that I have been in my winter and this resonated completely because for the past couple of years I have taken a step back from my business and spent my energy and time healing and working on myself.

Writing

When Mi – the founder of EyeStorm Women – asked me if I wanted to write a monthly blog for the website, I have to say I was rather reluctant. I have written blogs in the past but have not found this easy and also, I haven’t actually been writing for a while now, so, wasn’t even sure if I could anymore. After thinking it over I said yes and am incredibly thankful for Mi’s continued belief and encouragement in my work and writing. Now, I feel inspired to write and am looking forward to bringing out some new books that empower little girls.

Also, thank you to Linz – EyeStorm Community Manager – for the inspiration of taking 2025 slowly.

Who else can relate to this?

Creating Content

I am also working on ideas for content and value any input from all of the amazing women who are a part of EyeStorm Women. I have struggled with being the face of my brand Alice Clover the Farting Feminist because of fear of being seen but have so much I would like to say and would like my content to reach as many people as possible. I am thinking of doing my work involving my whoopee cushion outfit and making some fun filled vlogs for my friends, family and audience to enjoy. I would also love to do more collaborative work with other women and share our wisdom with the world because when women work together this is where the biggest impact is made.

Enjoying the winter and darker days

We have been fortunate to have a little smattering of snow this year in Brighton and my two daughters had the best time building a snowman. I have decided to see January as a month where, even though it can be dark and seem long, it is a time for rest.

Animals hibernate for a reason and I have been doing this too. I feel like we all put such a lot of pressure on ourselves, particularly us women, and it is important to accept that sometimes days are darker and it’s okay to slow our pace down. I have also enjoyed cuddles with a delightful cat named Shyla. We would love to have a family cat but, for now, we are thankful to enjoy snuggles with our friend’s cats. There is something magical about having a cat curled up warm and cosy on your lap.

Perhaps this could be another book for me to focus on.

Let’s see what February brings!

With love,

Alice, The Farting Feminist
